Public Health Law Competencies
Working together with the CDC’s Office of Workforce Development and other
Centers for Public Health Preparedness, as well as national collaborative
partners, the Center has developed a statement of “Core
Legal Competencies for Public Health Practitioners.”
Under the direction of Professor Stephen P. Teret, Director, the Center
engaged a multi-step process to develop these core legal competencies
as well as corresponding curricula.
A Short Course in Public Health Law: Legal Bases for Public Health Preparedness to Terrorism was also prepared by Center colleagues based on these
core legal competencies.
